“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32)
Former US Senator, Rick Santorun once admonished Christians. “Your job is to just focus on being faithful, standing by the truth, fighting for the truth. Understanding the world is broken and that they will hate you and persecute you because you stand for him and what he taught. And that is a great blessing, not something to be embraced.”
Every true God must be tested to prove the type of Christian he or she is. For Rechabite, the test came from the great prophet Jeremiah who commanded them to drink wine. But they responded: “We will drink no wine: for Jonadab the son of Rechab, our father commanded us, saying, Ye shall drink no wine, neither ye nor your sons, forever…..” The Rechabites stood for the truth in their time and resisted the temptation to sin against God.
Dear reader, God has not changed his demand of absolute obedience from his children. Make up your mind to stand for Christ and live godly, despite any persecution. Temptation or trials in this present world, God will surely create an escape route for you.
Challenge- Obedience brings blessing
Prayer- Lord, help me not to focus on my challenges
